WinSport’s Performance Training Centre (PTC) is offering a new 12-week off-season hockey and ringette training program to help athletes take their game to the next level.
Our coaches are experts in youth development coaches, having worked athletes competing in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Western Hockey League, Ringette Calgary, Prep school leagues, and Varsity athletics.
Our team will help your athlete enter next season knowing that they have worked harder and smarter.
Training sessions are held in a competitive and supportive environment as an individual among a group of 8-10 players.
Terms of Contract
IMPORTANT – WAIVERS REQUIRED
A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement ("Waiver") must be completed prior to participation in WinSport’s Programs, Lessons, and Camps. If the applicable Waiver is not completed, participation in the WinSport Program, access to WinSport’s facilities will not be permitted, and a refund will be provided.
The Waiver will be available for completion during the sales process, and a copy is available for preview below.
- A parent/guardian must complete the Waiver for their minor/child participant.
PLEASE READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY! By signing, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers’ Liability Act or claim compensation following an accident.

Groups are available for the following age groups:
- U13 – M/W/F:
- 4:00pm-5:00pm
- U15 – M/W/F:
- 7:00am to 8:00am
- 5:00pm-6:00pm
- U18 – M/W/F:
- 7:00am to 8:00am
- 8:00-9:00pm
U13, U15, and U18 Program
Focus: Enhance the overall athleticism, strength, and skill of youth hockey/ringette players by delivering a semi-custom program with performance monitoring throughout their off-season schedule.
Duration: This program begins Monday, April 7, and concludes Friday, June 27. There will be three, one-hour sessions each week for a total of 36 sessions.
All sessions will be led by the PTC’s certified trainers. Our talented group of coaches are experts in youth athlete development and have trained thousands of young athletes who have achieved success in the Alberta Junior Holcey League and Western Hockey League in addition to multiple prep schools and post-secondary teams.
The stages of Sport for Life’s Long-Term Development in Sport and Physical Activity will be adhered to throughout the Off-Season Training Program.
Our U13 grouping is tailored for players ages 11 or 12 looking to build a strong foundation of fitness in their developmental years.
Our U15 grouping is designed to refine the skills of 13- and 14-year-olds and measure their strength, speed, and fitness.
Our U18 grouping for athletes 15-17 years old will focus on prepping athletes for high level of competition as well as reinforcing their abilities for long-term success and lifelong physical activity.
Program Goals
- Lifting technique: Learning basic movement patterns for strength training and Olympic lifts to begin developing muscle and improving mobility, speed, power.
- Cardiovascular function: Introducing aerobic capacity loading and anaerobic power training to benefit muscle endurance and external load tolerance, including strength training and plyometrics.
- Overall athleticism: Attaining a well-rounded foundation for a variety of movements and overall flexibility prior to a sport specialization to accentuate body mechanics and overall health.
- Injury prevention: Acquiring the knowledge and techniques necessary to increase training volume and reach maximum output in a safe, sustainable manner.
- On-ice abilities: Translating accomplishments made in the PTC to skill development on the ice in July and August during the latter stages of the off-season.
Athletes should already possess the following, at minimum:
- Commitment to year-round improvement for elevating their game and acquiring an edge over others.
- Motivation to experience ongoing personal progress based on data tracking and periodic performance testing.
- Desire to thrive in a competitive, supportive environment as an individual among a group of 8-10 players.
