Ages 13 - 17
Make the most of the cold winter months and enjoy some time on the slopes! The teen program is an engaging space that provides a fun and safe place to learn new skills and develop your technique.
Each program will begin by revisiting the level goals from the previous level on more challenging terrain. An evaluation will be done at the start of each program, we reserve the right to move the participant to the level most appropriate for their skill level. All levels may be repeated multiple times to help build a solid foundation and allow your child to develop their skills at their own pace in a safe learning environment.
Lesson Information
- Teen ski/snowboard lessons are 2-hours long and include standard hill access during the lesson
- We focus on smaller class sizes with a target ratio of 1 instructor per 7 participants for this program.
Program Start Times
- Regular Multi-Week Programs: 6PM Fridays
- Holiday Multi-Day Programs: 3PM (Dec 21-23, Dec 27-29, Jan 2-3, Feb 15-16)
Terms of Contract
IMPORTANT – WAIVERS REQUIRED
A Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement(s) ("Waiver(s)") must be completed prior to participation in WinSport’s Programs, Lessons, and Camps and, if applicable, rental of Equipment. If the applicable Waiver(s) are not completed, participation in the WinSport Program, access to WinSport’s facilities and/or rental of Equipment will not be permitted, and a refund will be provided.
The Waiver(s) will be available for completion during the sales process, and copies are available for preview below.
- The Waiver(s) will apply to all ski and snowboard activities and facility use, including without limitation all day ticket use, season pass use, all programs, camps and lessons, and Equipment Rentals during the 2024-25 season.
- Each adult participant must complete their own Waiver(s).
- A parent/guardian must complete the Waiver(s) for their minor/child participant.
PLEASE READ THE WAIVER(S) CAREFULLY! By signing, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers’ Liability Act or claim compensation following an accident.

NO GUARANTEE OF CONDITIONS - We do not guarantee hill conditions, weather or other operating conditions including open terrain or lift operation.
NO FOOT TRAFFIC ALLOWED ON SKI HILL - For the safety of WinSport’s guests, there is no foot traffic allowed or on-hill viewing of winter lessons. Parents (including carpet-only ticket holders) are not allowed on snow without ski or snowboard equipment and a valid ticket/pass. Only persons with a valid ticket/pass who are skiing or snowboarding with appropriate equipment will be permitted on snow.
ENROLLMENT IS REVOCABLE WITHOUT REFUND IN THE EVENT OF MISCONDUCT. CANCELLATION OF ENROLLMENT AND REFUNDS ARE SUBJECT TO WINSPORT’S REFUND POLICY.

LESSONS, CAMPS AND PROGRAMS REFUND POLICY - Refund Policy
First time on skis.
Take the first steps as a skier! Familiarize yourself with the equipment, and how to use it to get around. As the group progresses you will learn to be safe on the hill and begin to develop skiing fundamentals to control your speed and direction.
Prerequisites
- Remain active for 2 hours.

Still learning to stop and control speed.
Grasp the basics and learn how to be safe on the hill before progressing to the next level. Start by learning the fundamental skills and gain confidence on beginner terrain as you learn how to control your speed and change direction.
Prerequisites
- Introduction to equipment and basic mobility.
Level Goal(s)
- Stopping: I can perform a controlled snowplow to stop on Silver carpet.
- Balance: I have a stable body position when straight running Silver carpet.
- Mobility: I can walk and slide on flat snow with my skis on.
- Turning: I have been introduced to turning.
Equipment Required

Able to stop and control speed on gentle slope.
This program introduced more challenging skills and techniques as participants learn how to ski more challenging terrain confidently while maintaining an athletic body position and demonstrating edge control.
Prerequisites
- Stopping: I can perform a controlled snowplow to stop on Silver carpet.
- Balance: I have a stable body position when straight running Silver carpet.
- Mobility: I can walk and slide on flat snow with my skis on.
- Turning: I have been introduced to turning.
Level Goal(s)
- Stopping: I can snowplow to control speed and stop on beginner terrain.
- Balance: I can balance on my downhill ski traversing beginner terrain.
- Mobility: I can sidestep uphill.
- Turning: I can link turns on all carpets.
- Timing: I can demonstrate flow while linking turns.
Equipment Required

Refine skills as you ski steeper runs, reach higher speeds, and develop varied terrain techniques.
Features such as small jumps, bumps, and rollers may also be introduced at this level, depending on the group's interests.

- Stopping: I can snowplow to control speed and stop on beginner terrain.
- Balance: I can balance on my downhill ski traversing beginner terrain.
- Mobility: I can sidestep uphill.
- Turning: I can link turns on all carpets.
- Timing: I can demonstrate flow while linking turns.
Level Goal(s)
- Stopping: I can control my speed and stop on intermediate terrain.
- Balance: I can maintain balance on my downhill ski throughout turns.
- Mobility: I can consistently stand up without assistance.
- Turning: I can keep my skis parallel on the traverse of my turns.
- Timing: I am starting to maintain a rhythm on intermediate terrain.
Equipment Required

Able to control speed and direction on intermediate terrain and starting to ski parallel.
Prerequisites
- Stopping: I can control my speed and stop on intermediate terrain.
- Balance: I can maintain balance on my downhill ski throughout turns.
- Mobility: I can consistently stand up without assistance.
- Turning: I can keep my skis parallel on the traverse of my turns.
- Timing: I am starting to maintain a rhythm on intermediate terrain.
Level Goal(s)
- Stopping: I can hockey stop consistently in both directions.
- Balance: I remain in control through varied terrain.
- Mobility: I can flex and extend at the correct times during my turn.
- Turning: My skis are parallel and I can adapt my turn shape to navigate intermediate terrain confidently.
- Timing: I can use pole plants to initiate my turns.
- Freeride: I have been introduced to switch skiing, carving and hopping while facing downhill.
