Ages 6 - 14
Try Freestyle program focus: Get a taste of foundational freestyle skill development with a qualified coach and learn about terrain park safety.
Curious about freestyle snowboarding? Hitting features but not sticking the landings? Our Try Freestyle program offers young skiers ages a 2- or 4-day introduction to freestyle snowboarding with expert coaching and guidance. Ideal for strong snowboarders, ages 7 to 14, who are already riding in the park or excited to start, this program ensures a structured environment for progressing skills and learning essential park safety. It’s a great choice for parents who want their kids to explore freestyle with the guidance of a qualified coach before committing to a longer program.
Training sessions are 2 hours long and offer a structured approach to developing foundational skills for freestyle and all-mountain snowboarding. Athletes in the Try Freestyle program are at the Active Start to the FUNdamentals level of Freestyle Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development model (LTAD).
- Choosing the right level: Groups will be arranged according to age and ability level. This will occur at the start of the first day and throughout the programs as needed.
- Duration: This program is offered as 2-day holiday camps and a 4-week format.
