Mountain Bike
Never biked before - Level -1
Learn to ride a two-wheeler. Our instructors will focus on biking being fun to foster a desire to try more!

Key Goals
- Explore learning how to ride a bike
- Learn to pedal, turn, stop and balance on two wheels
- Progress to ride unsupported
Equipment Required
- Strider bike or a bike with training wheels
- Certified/approved helmet required
Able to ride a bike unsupported - Level 0
Continue practising your biking skills to ride independently. Our instructors will build upon the basics and introduce new skills to open up the doors to mountain biking.
Trail usage

Feature Usage
- Green features - Small:
- Green berms
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Limited experience riding a bike
- Comfortable balancing and pedalling a two-wheeler for short distances
Key Goals
- Continue progressing your basic skills to ride without a push start or aid stopping
- Improve pedalling, stopping with both brakes, and balance while riding
- Explore Green trails off pavement
Equipment Required
- A two-wheeled bike without training wheels
- Certified/approved helmet required
Beginner Mountain Bike Rider - Level 1
Explore the basics of mountain biking such as braking, body position, and turning to explore your first mountain bike trails. Our coaches will build your confidence to practice new skills on new Green trails.
Trail usage
- Comfortable on flat terrain, and some green trails and features
- Progressing to riding Green trails
Feature Usage
- No features
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on pavement and wide gravels but has never mountain biked before
- Comfortable maintaining balance and using front and back brakes
- Little to no previous experience on any mountain bike trails
Key Goals
- Learn basic skills such as body positioning, gearing, and braking
- Gain confidence stopping, steering, and changing direction
- Progress from primarily pavement-based trails to Green mountain bike trails

- Certified/approved helmet required
Comfortable riding on some Green trails - Level 2
Progress your basic skills onto your first Blue trails, riding with more fluidity and control. Our coaches will begin introducing more techniques and trails to your learning.

- Progressing to Blue trails and features
Feature Usage
- Green features - Small:
- Jumps
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on some Green trails
- Confident riding on bumpy, rocky, and root covered trails
- Confident riding sections of trails without putting a foot down
- Little to no previous experience on Blue trails and capable of riding a 5 km cross-country loop
Key Goals
- Continue progressing your basic skills on more technical trails
- Improve cornering, body position, and steering to ride more fluidly
- Progress from Green mountain bike trails to easy Blue trails

- Front and rear brakes required
- Certified/approved helmet required
Comfortable riding on most Green trails - Level 3
Learn the fundamental skills required to take on Blue features, and lift accessible Blue trails. Our coaches will train riding with more technique to continue expanding the number and difficult of trails you can ride.

- Comfortable on all Green and Blue trails and features
- Progressing to riding more Blue trails and features
Feature Usage
- Blue features - Small:
- Jumps
- Steep
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on most Green trails
- Experienced shifting gears, riding both up hill and downhill, and on rocky, rooted, and bumpy trails
- Little to no previous experience on lift accessed trails and capable of riding a 7-9 km cross-country loop
Key Goals
- Further develop your basic skills to improve your speed on trails
- Learn to ride Blue features, and develop line selection
- Expand the number of Green and Blue trails you can comfortably ride

Comfortable riding on some Blue trails - Level 4
Increase your riding at speed on technical trails, including your first Black trail. Coaches will focus on refining your skills to ride faster, more fluidly and with more confidence.

- Blue features - Small/Medium:
- Jumps
- Drops
- Steep
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on Blue trails
- Confident riding at moderate and safe speed while carry momentum on trail
- Moderate experience on lift accessed Trails and capable of riding a 9-11 km cross-country loop
Key Goals
- Develop your skills to experience larger Blue features and more technical trails at a safe speed
- Progress your skills, line selection, body positioning, and cornering to access Black trails
- Complete all Blue trails and progress to Black trails
Equipment Required
- Front and rear disc brakes are required
- Front suspension required
- Minimum helmet requirements: Half-shell (full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails if brought to camp by participant)
- Knee and elbow pads recommended
Comfortable riding on most Blue trails, looking to get on Black trails - Level 5
Conquer advanced trails including Black features, and Black trails with speed and confidence. Coaches will focus on skill proficiency and athletes feedback progress your riding to allow for bigger jump, drops, and trail speeds.

- Black features - Medium/Large:
- Jumps
- Drops
- Wall rides
- Steep
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on most Blue trails, looking to get on Black trails
- Confident picking a line and riding difficult technical trail sections, steep trails, narrow pathways, and Blue features.
- Highly experienced on lift accessed trails and capable riding a 12-15 km cross-country loop
Key Goals
- Develop your skills to experience Black features and more technical trails, riding with greater speed, control, and fluidity
- Develop strong technique and technical skills to unlock the entire Bike Park
- Able to ride every Trail available including our Black Trails

- Front suspension required
- Rear suspension recommended
- Dropper post recommended
- Half-shell and full-face helmet required (full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails)
- Knee pads are strongly recommended
- Other body armour such as neck brace, chest/back protector, elbow pads recommended
Comfortable riding on some Black trails - Level 6
Ride like a pro. Perfect your technique through focused coaching and feedback. Master your skills to ride every trail at the highest level with confidence, flow, and speed.

- Progressing to riding all trails at the highest level
Feature Usage
- Black features - Large:
- Jumps
- Drops
- Wall rides
- Steep
- Roots, rocks, variable trail conditions
Pre-requisites
- Comfortable riding on some Black trails
- Confident riding at high speeds, and capable of riding all features on all Black trails
- Capable of clearing Black features with proper technique
- Frequently rides lift accessed Black trails and capable riding a 15-20 km cross-country loop
Key Goals
- Perfect your technique to ride the most difficult Trails at the highest level and speed
- Master your skills and take your fitness to the next level with our most experienced coaches
- Ride every trail confidently, with the highest levels of speed, flow, and control

- Rear suspension recommended
- Half-shell and full-face helmet required (full-face helmet to be worn on downhill trails)
- Knee pads are strongly recommended
